The issue is down to Microsoft Security and not related to Exchequer. All 3rd party emails are affected. The situation is still developing but we have had 3 or 4 instances of this recently so were interested in the best solution possible here. Prompting me to look into it last week. From a basic google search there are a lot of hits in this area currently with this windows security password prompt message on sending an email . I insert an extract of the call I had sent on last week below in red. From speaking with their It guy on this site , we had some problems on some users on a terminal server and other users on the same terminal server that didn’t have the password prompt. He reckoned it was MS security that was kicking in based on version of Outlook. He wondered was it knock on effect of MS doing more deep rooted changes relating to the recent documented Basic Authentication change, but I am unsure. He wanted to upgrade the office on the site (they were office 365) . He did so and it fixed the problem. That ties in with the below links I sent on, there are other suggested solutions on those links but unfortunately, I haven’t got confirmation if any of these changes work. Its not for us to be affecting site security or office settings. If you find anything other than Office upgrade fixing here please let me know There are a lot of hits in this area with Windows security prompts on older versions of outlook and varied Outlook settings.
